LEWISTON – The city of Lewiston and WinterKids will host the first-ever local “Welcome to Winter” family event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Multi-Purpose Center on Birch Street.
The event will focus on introducing winter activities to adults and children who aren’t familiar with or are rediscovering cold weather.
Various games and activities will include learning to use snowshoes, building snow people and forts, using a snow tube and a “Treasures, Tracks, and Trees” scavenger hunt.
People are encouraged to dress warmly for the event.
WinterKids is a nonprofit organization committed to helping children develop lifelong habits of health, education and fitness through participation in outdoor winter activities.
