COLCHESTER, Vt. – Anthony G. Sherry, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Born in Lewiston, Sept. 16, 1924, he was the son of Anthony J. and Bernice (Dow) Sherry. He loved to work on his uncle’s farm from a young boy until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1943, where he served two years in World War II. After World War II he went to business college.

Tony worked many years in the automotive parts supply business. He loved to work, never planning to retire. He was currently working at Guy’s Farm and Yard in Williston.

He was a member of the Elks Club. His greatest passion was his family and the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, with a great love of traveling each year back to Rangeley in November for deer hunting.

He leaves his beloved and devoted wife of 54 years, Winona; his only child and best friend, York Sherry; York’s longtime partner, Rhonda Tebeau and their three daughters, Tony’s precious grandchildren, Sierra, Savannah and Alicia, whom he loved spending time with and watching grow.
