LEWISTON – Francis J. Sabaluskas, 82, of Lewiston died Friday, Jan. 6, at d’Youville Pavilion where he had been living since July 2005.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 22, 1923, the son of Kazamier and Julia (Peslis) Sabaluskas. He attended catholic schools and later graduated from Lewiston High School. He went on to college where he studied aircraft engineering.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran having served time in India during World War II as a propeller specialist.

Following his military service, he worked for Delisles Auto Body Shop until his retirement.

He was a member of the Lithuanian Club and the Eagles Club.

His greatest passions were fishing and horse racing.

He is survived by his two nephews, Joseph Jasud, of Lewiston and Andrew Jasud, of California, and by many cousins. He also leaves his lifelong friends, Dan and Rose Dufour, of Lewiston; and his friend since childhood, Henry Korytko, of Gardiner.

Frank was the last member of his family and was predeceased by his sisters, Julia and Lydia.
