Seniors to install
AUBURN – The Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m.
Installation of new officers will be held and members may pay 2006 dues. There will be a rabble table, and bingo will be played after the meeting, time permitting.
Seventy members attended the annual Christmas dinner on Dec. 14 at the Martindale Country Club, with musical entertainment by the Silvertones. Pot of gold winners were Wallace Dixon, Thelma Lever, Eleanor Jones, Evelyn Sawin, Patricia Donohue, Cecile Brouillette, Aileen Harnden and Lee Koss. No meeting were held in November and December due to the holidays.
Rotary speaker
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Ramada Inn. Members will learn the latest about The Public Theatre from its director, Christopher Schario. Anyone wishing to attend to hear the speaker or to learn more about Rotary is welcome. The buffet luncheon is $8.
Grange visitors
AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the grange. State Deputy James Meserve and Junior Deputy Judy Meserve will be present to offer instruction. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
Seniors trips
LEWISTON – The Meadowview Seniors and Friends are planning a trip to Foxwoods on Wednesday, March 8. Cost is $35.
On Friday, April 7, they will travel to a sugar party at Cloutier’s in Lac Megantic, Quebec, Canada. Cost is $32.
A nine-day trip with Lewiston Seniors and friends will leave by bus on May 3 for New York City to take a Caribbean cruise. They will visit San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola for $1,349 a person. For information on the trips, call Bert Dutil at 786-2305.
Round table
BRUNSWICK – The Chamberlain Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Brunswick High School cafeteria. Robert Greene of South Portland will speak on Maine African-Americans who fought and died in the Civil War. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Council supper
AUBURN – Members of Twin City Council, United Commercial Travelers of America and Canada, will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Odd Fellows Hall, Elm Street. A potluck supper will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are invited.
Lodge to install
WALES – Webster Lodge 154, AF and AM, will hold a stated communication at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Wales Grange and Masonic Hall, 522 Centre Road.
Work will include the installation of officers for 2006. Members and visiting brethren of the fraternity are invited. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
Class reunion
AUBURN – The Edward Little High School class of 1981 will hold its 25th class reunion on Saturday, July 8, at Lost Valley. The committee is looking for help in planning the event.
There will be an informal meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the home of Dan and Lisa Carroll, 95 Clover Lane. Help is needed in all aspects of the planning and running of the reunion. For more information or directions, call Dan at 777-7060.
