BYRON – Efforts are under way to raise money sanctioning the town of Byron to purchase Coos Canyon on Route 17. Dubbed the “Coos Canyon Crusade,” residents of the small community are banding together to coordinate a number of activities and raffles.
Raffle tickets are available for a weekend at Coos Canyon Cabins, a weekend at Coos Canyon Campground and an original painting by Olga Miller of Byron. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20, and can be purchase through Patty Duguay at the River Valley Healthy Communities, 94 River St., Rumford; Steven Duguay at NewPage Corp.; Penny Duguay, Mexico Town Office, Main Street; or at the Byron Town Office.
Donations may be sent to Town of Byron, 1 Byron Village Road, Byron, ME 04275.
Anyone who has raffle items, would like to sell tickets, volunteer or purchase a ticket should contact Patty Duguay at 364-7408.
