HARTFORD – Voters here will be asked to approve borrowing more than $200,000 for construction of a sand and salt shed at a special town meeting to be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Town Hall.

Selectmen met on Tuesday to sign the seven-article warrant that contains four articles requesting additional expenditures.

Townspeople will be asked to approve the following items, already recommended for passage by selectmen:

• to allow funds previously approved at the 2005 annual town meeting for the preparation and paving of Town Farm Road to be used for preparation and paving of other town roads;

• to authorize the Board of Selectmen to borrow up to $220,000 for the construction of a new sand and salt storage facility;

• to vote an amount of $6,800 to purchase additional salt for winter roads;

• to spend an additional $3,750 from the fund balance to pay for assessing;

• to spend $700 from the fund balance to purchase a flag pole, flag and lighting;

• to authorize the Hartford Goodwill Potluck Supper Committee to spend donated funds, which were deposited into town accounts, for supplies relating to the monthly suppers and for other purposes as determined by the Hartford Goodwill Potluck Supper Committee.

The next selectmen’s meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Town Office followed by the special town meeting in the Town Hall.
