BETHEL – Sean Caddigan drained a game-high 38 points to carry Telstar to a 62-52 victory over Livermore Falls in a boys’ varsity basketball matchup Wednesday.
Steven McDonnell chipped in with nine for Telstar. Telstar shot 80 percent from the charity stripe. Mike Durrell scored a team-high 12 points for the Andies, while Davis Mercier dropped 10.
GPC 53, Gould 50
BETHEL – Dennis Cram poured in a game-high 27 points as Greater Portland Christian edged Gould Academy 53-50 in local boy’s basketball action Wednesday.
Justin Blake chipped in for GPC (4-3) with 10 points in the narrow victory.
Evan Bruen led the way for Gould (1-3) with a strong 22-point performance, while Thomas Keummel tallied 12. GPC held a seven-point lead at the half and hung on for the win.
Dirigo 79, Carrabec 39
NORTH ANSON – After a hard fought first half, Dirigo tightened up the defensive pressure and held Carrabec to 11 second half points on way to a 79-39 victory Wednesday night.
Spencer Berry scored 17 points to lead the way for the Cougars. Teammates Gary Holman and Josh Daley added 12. Carrabec was paced by Brandon Coutts with 15.
Ice Hockey
Hebron 3, Middlesex 3
MIDDLESEX, Mass. – Jason Butler found the back of the net late in the third period to lift Hebron to a 3-3 tie with Middlesex in prep school hockey action Wednesday.
Jordan Krusch and Ben Jessome also tallied for Hebron to complete the scoring.
Mike McDougal made 22 saves in net for the mighty Hebron.
John Evert led Middlesex with a pair of goals, while Tom Blake added an unassisted goal to round out the tally. Joe Hanson handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 33 shots fored in his direction.
Girls’ Basketball
GPC 39, Gould 28
GOULD – Emily Johnson dropped a game-high 15 points to lead Greater Portland Christian to a 39-28 win against Gould in varsity girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
Gould had a 22-20 lead after the third, then Greater Portland poured in 19 fourth quarter points to pull away from Gould.
Casey Eastwood added 11 points for Greater Portland (7-1).
Gould (4-1) was led by Heather Kelleher, who scored 14 points.
Ice Hockey
Hebron 3, Kents Hill 0
KENTS HILL – Steph Roy scored a pair of goals to lead Hebron to a 3-0 victory over Kents Hill in girls’ varsity hockey action.
Goalkeeper Jill Maclsaac stopped all 35 shots she faced to pick up the shutout for Hebron (7-1-1).
Jasmine Webber also scored for Hebron.
