TOGUS – Louis E. Webster Sr., 75, of Wilton, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, with his loving family by his side.

He was born, July 12, 1930, in South Carthage, a son of Earl and Mary (Girardin) Webster.

As a teenager, he worked in the woods with his father crosscutting logs and twitching wood with horses.

After attending Dixfield schools, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1947, working on the U.S.S. Wytec and fighting in the Korean War. He returned to Maine and married, Ruth Priscilla Floyd of Dixfield on March 13, 1954.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman his entire life. He was a 44-year member of the Local 327 Laborer’s Union. He was also a member of the AMVETS, VFW and FOWL (Friends of Wilson Lake). He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, playing cards and most of all spending time with family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed with his quick wit and humor.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Louis E. Webster Jr. and his wife, Erika, Robert Webster, Maryann and Kenny Littlefield, Bruce Webster and his companion, Sue Moras, Mark and Jill Webster, John Webster and his companion, Tammy McGowan and Joyce Webster; grandchildren, Jeremy Webster, Amy Littlefield, Elissa Webster, Michael Slovak, Angela Nile, Ryan Webster, Katie Webster, Kelsey Webster, Kimberly Webster and Isabella Webster; great-grandchildren, Sage Webster and Levi Merchant; one sister, Berle Donald and her husband, David; brother, Joe Webster and his wife, Betty; sisters-in-law, Nancy Webster and Jennifer Webster; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Milford Webster.
