AUBURN – Germaine F. Paradis, 89, of Maison Marcotte, 100 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died Thursday evening, Jan 12, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

She was born in Auburn, Sept. 20, 1916, the daughter of Alfred and Rosanna Rousseau Paquin. She was educated in local schools and was married to Jean Baptiste Chainey. She later married Rosario R. Paradis, who also predeceased her.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a stitcher in local shoe shops. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality, Association Canados Americaine and Cercle d’Youville.

She was a woman of deep faith who was very dedicated to her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting and crocheting. She always remembered her family and friends by sending them cards for every occasion.

She is survived by two daughters, Muguette Landry and Jeanne d’Arc Blanchette and her husband, Marcel, all of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, Roland Landry and wife, Debbie, of Lewiston, Robert Landry and wife, Linda, of Leeds, Richard Landry and wife, Joline, of Auburn, Roger Landry and wife, Cindy, of Auburn, Gisele Krippner and husband, Peter, of Washington State, Claire Martin and husband, Steve, of New York, Carmen Landry and husband, Rodney, of Windham, Paul Blanchette and wife, Cheryl, of Poland and JoAnn Blanchette and fianc, Tony McDonald, of Gray; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.

In addition to her two husbands, she was also predeceased by five sisters; and five brothers.
