I recently found a clipping of a Sun Journal photo that was printed in 1962. The photo was taken by a Robert Fowler of Auburn and showed the prices for gasoline posted at an Esso station located on Main Street in Lewiston, somewhere near the fairgrounds. The prices shown were: Esso (regular), 20.9; Esso Plus, 22.9; and Esso Extra, 24.9.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see those prices again?
