Noon lunch
FARMINGTON – The January Community Luncheon at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the church located on the corner of Main and Academy streets.
The menu will include chicken pie casserole with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, biscuits, cranberry sauce and assorted cakes for dessert.

Chowder lunch
FARMINGTON – A free fish chowder luncheon with all the fixings will be served each Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. until March 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Snodeo meal
RANGELEY – The Catholic Women’s Club will serve its award-winning chili, clam chowder and sandwiches during the Snodeo from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Episcopal Undercroft. The public is invited to the meal then watch the fireworks over Rangeley Lake.
GOP speaker
STRONG – The Franklin County Republican Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Forster Memorial Building. Speaker will be gubernatorial candidate David Emery. All Franklin County GOP town representatives are welcome.

Book fair
LIVERMORE – The second annual Livermore Elementary School Literacy Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Livermore Elementary School, 107 Gibbs Mill Road.
There will be rooms with free activities for children, informational booths, vendors, a Scholastic book fair, food and entertainment.
The free entertainment will include a performance by Charlie Who, magical mime, at 9 a.m.; Margy Knight, author, at noon; and Rick Charette, children’s singer/songwriter.
Admission is free and most of the activities are at no cost. Proceeds from the fair will go toward next year’s literacy fair.
Organizers hope that all children who attend will be able to pick a free book, and a door prize will be awarded.
Demo meeting
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Democratic Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, in Room C, North Dining Room, University of Maine at Farmington’s Olsen Student Center.
Special attention will be given matters of candidates, campaigns and caucuses. The general meeting will be preceded by a session for the executive committee at 4 p.m.
