PARIS – A Mount View High School student suffered a minor neck injury in a wrestling meet Monday at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
The student, whose name was not available, was transported by ambulance to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. A nursing supervisor said Monday afternoon that the student was expected to be treated and released.
“He got in a (wrestling) hold, went to get out of the hold, and felt something in his neck,” said Jeff Benson, athletic director at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Benson said the student was fully conscious. The wrestling meet continued as planned.
Mount View High School is in Thorndike.
