WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Elizabeth “Betty” Gelly, 95, of Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15.

She was born in Rumford, on Nov. 17, 1910, to Joseph and Elmire Deschenes. She was married to Charles “Charlie” Gelly on April 14, 1935, who preceded her in death as well as her daughter, Louise.

Besides being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, she held several retail positions in Lewiston while living there.

She is survived by her daughter, Claire LePage, of Fairfax, Va.; her son, David of Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
