CORNISH, N.H. (AP) – A 27-year-old driver was killed when his Ford Explorer ran off the road and landed upside down in a pond.

State police said Matthew Neily of Lebanon was alone in the northbound SUV Wednesday night when it went off icy Route 12-A.

Police said the accident wasn’t reported until Thursday because the SUV in Blow-Me-Down Pond wasn’t readily visible from the road. The crash was discovered by a state highway worker driving a road grader.
