PORTLAND – Women In Harmony, a chorus of more than 50 women’s voices, will fill St. Luke’s Cathedral with its energy and rich harmonies of many genres and cultures Saturday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 22.
Now in its 12th season, the organization has grown to a chorus of 57 women. It is unique in its dedication to musical excellence while maintaining a tradition of advocating for social, political and economic equality for women, and supporting efforts for peace, freedom and tolerance for all people.
Some of the chorus’ most recent collaborative concerts and outreach events have supported the Maine Alzheimer’s Association, Peace Action Maine, Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community and Maine’s No on 1 campaign.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 and at 2 p.m. Jan. 22. The church is at 143 State St. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, $10 for seniors and students with an ID. Children under 12 admitted free. FMI: call 829-3161 or go online to www.wihmaine.org.<.000>
