FARMINGTON – First round winners in the Elks Hoop Shoot have been announced. The local competition for youngsters ages 8-13 was held Sunday at Farmington Community Center. Each youngster had 25 foul shots.

Hoop Shoot Chairman Laura Adams announced the following results:

Boys 12-13: 1. Dustin James; 2. Adam Wiles-Rosell; 3. Steven Yardley. Girls 12-13: 1. Marlie Machamer; 2. Amelia Presby; 3. Renae Ladd. Boys 10-11: 1. Aaron Lisherness; 2. Branden Bressette; 3. Joshua Merrick. Girls 10-11: 1. Sara Turner; 2. Corrine Dingley; 3. Christie Vieneire. Boys 8-9: 1. Justin Evans; 2. Jacob Wiliams; 3. Peyton Smith. Girls 8-9: 1. Jenna Presby; 2. Taylor France.

The champions advance to the next level of competition, leading up to the national finals at Springfield, Mass.
