City and school officials will begin budget deliberations at a special workshop meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Auburn Hall.

Councilors have scheduled a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Topics on the agenda include a review of the city’s financial report for December, appointing a new city finance director and a review of the plans for Community Development Block grants.

The agenda and full information packet for Tuesday’s regular meeting is available on the city’s Web site, www.auburnmaine.org.

The meeting will be shown live on Great Falls Television.

Lewiston: Council to meet with pair of boards

The City Council will meet twice this week, Tuesday with the Planning Board and Thursday with the School Committee.

Tuesday’s meeting is set at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers. Topics include new design standards for downtown development, regulations on methadone clinics and amendments to the city’s zoning and land-use codes. Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Lewiston School Department offices in the Dingley Building at 36 Oak St.

Topics include the city budget, state property valuations and student enrollment numbers, student demographics, funding and school construction projects for the Farwell and Pettingill schools.

Both meetings are open to the public, and agendas are available on the city’s Web site at ci.lewiston.me.us/council/minutes/2005/currentagenda.htm.
