LAKELAND, Fla. – Marjorie Louise Grahl Souther, 84, of Polk City, Fla., formerly of Wilton, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, at Lakeland Hospital in Lakeland, Fla., after a brief illness.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1921, in St. Paul, Minn., the only child of Walter and Bertha (Ruesch) Grahl. She received her education in St. Paul schools and also attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and graduated as a registered nurse from the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn.

After retirement from orthopedic nursing, she continued to be an attentive grandmother.

In 1990, she became a devoted wife to Stuart Souther.

Her interests included volunteer work at Franklin Memorial Hospital and the Wilton Free Public Library.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart Souther of Florida; and his sons, Lauriston and Ronald, and daughter Patricia McDonald. She is also survived by her daughter, Margaret Yates and her husband, William, of East Wilton; son, James Bandlow and wife, Joanne, of Cleveland, Ohio; son, Richard Bandlow of Englewood, Colo.; son, William Bandlow and his wife, Monica, of Rockville, Md.; and son, Robert Bandlow and his wife, Karen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and was blessed with 10 grandchildren.
