PARIS – The Western Maine Chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will host a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The topics are the new policy on timber harvesting in the state parks and conservation easements.
Tom Morrison, director of the Bureau of Parks and Lands, will explain the changes and talk about demonstration cuts in Range Pond State Park in Poland and Little Concord Pond in Woodstock in 2006.
In the second half of the program, Norway attorney Bruce Rood will discuss conservation easements and land trusts. Information will be available from the Western Foothills Land Trust as well as SWOAM’s Land Trust program.
