During the last few weeks before Christmas vacation, LMS student council had been collecting toys and coats for kids. Drop off boxes were located in team leader’s rooms. I had a chance to interview one of the student council representatives. She said that the school had donated 8 trashbags full of jackets, hats, gloves, and other winter gear.

Toys for Kids also hit LMS. The school donated toy cars, games, puzzles, electronic games, and much more. One teacher even donated gift packs with school supplies in them. They included pens, pencils, and erasers. The organizer Mr. Rick Meyers said that he would like to do two programs in a row like this year in the future. The only thing that would change is that there would be more drop off boxes. He thinks that more drop off boxes would have brought them a whole lot more items.

Thank you to all the people who donated to these charities, and I’m sure that you made at least one needy child happy.
