WILTON – Alice B. Rainey, 76, of Wilton, died late Monday evening, Jan. 23, at her home.
She was born March 13, 1929, in Wilton, a daughter of Benjamin M. and Ruby (Raymond) Bunker. She received her education in Wilton schools and graduated from Wilton Academy in 1946. She later attended Bliss Business College in Lewiston.
On May 26, 1956, she married Robert Rainey in Bridgton. She was employed at the University of Maine at Farmington at Mantor Library, where she was an acquisitions librarian for 22 years. She was a member of the Wilton United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara E. Sewall and her husband, Dr. Elmer M. “Luke” Sewall, of Greenland, N.H.; nieces; nephews; grandnieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert “Bob” Rainey and a brother, Richard Porter Bunker.
