Grange program

POLAND – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Excelsior Grange for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The program, which will start at 7:30, will feature Jim Talbot of Charles M. Talbot Associates from Turner.

He will do an “Antique Road Show.” Members are reminded to bring an item they would like appraised. A business meeting will follow the program. All members and guests are welcome.

Androscoggin Pomona Grange has been invited to meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Granite Grange in Pownal as guests of Cumberland Pomona Grange. Androscoggin Pomona will fill the chairs and provide the program.

Fellowship

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet Monday, Feb. 6, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed at noon with a potluck lunch. All interested widows in the area are invited.

Society speaker

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Archive Museum, MTM Center, Rooms 5 and 6 (use back entry), 18 School St. Bill Barr, local historian, treasurer and assistant archivist for the society, will give a presentation with transparencies on the Farnsworth Mill area history, including Papermill Road, which is now the Papermill Trail.

Archive hours are Thursdays, 1 to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Call Dorothy Smith at 353-8510. The public is welcome; admission is free.

Cultural program

LEWISTON – “Morocco and Togo” will be the topic for a Wisdom’s Center for Women program at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the center, 97 Blake St. Guests will be a woman from Morocco and a woman from Togo, who will share their heritage. All women are invited. For more information, call 784-0155.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 24 were: first, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; second, Claire Lyons and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus; first in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second in B, Alberta Turner and Roger Briggs.

Winners at Schooner Estates, Auburn, on Jan. 25 were: first, Betty and Doug Sise; second, Martine Begert and David Lock; third, Lil Cohen and Rosemarie Goodwin.
