Volunteers sought

NAPLES – Southern Maine Agency on Aging is recruiting volunteers to help seniors with the process of choosing a Medicare prescription drug plan.

A free one-day volunteer training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Lake Region High School. The snow day will be Wednesday, Feb. 22. Anyone who has time to contribute to help people understand the Medicare PartD program is invited to attend the training.

Vacation winner

OXFORD – Vickie Rogers, art teacher at Oxford Elementary School, won the gift certificate for a mini-vacation to the Samoset Resort in Rockport. The Oxford American Legion Auxiliary 112 raised funds for the National American Legion Auxiliary Emergency Fund by raffling off the vacation.
