AUBURN – Roland H. Moulin, 90, formerly of 9 Cornell St., died Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Odd Fellows Home.

He was born in Auburn, April 22, 1915, the son of Arthur and Marie Noel Moulin. He was educated in Auburn schools and attended Central Maine Technical College and earned his GED at age 55.

He also attended the University of Southern Maine where he obtained his real estate license.

He was employed during World War II in Portland where he built Liberty Ships. He was later employed as a master handsewer for Bostonian Shoe and owned and operated his own barbershop in East Auburn from 1946 to 2000.

He was married Oct. 28, 1939, to Marcia Vachon who predeceased him Oct. 1, 1999.

He was a member of the Auburn Catholic community at St. Philip’s Church and the Auburn Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was a founding member of the East Auburn Men’s Club and PAL League of East Auburn, Scout Master of Troop 123 of East Auburn and one of the original founders of the Auburn Little League.

He enjoyed fishing, photography and spending time with his family. He was known as and given the name of “gentle-man” by his sister-in-law, Christine Dumais.

He is survived by three sons, Richard E. Moulin and his wife, Beverly, of Freeport, Thomas R. Moulin and his wife, Muguette, of Auburn, and Harry L. Moulin and his wife, Irene, of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Michele Bowie and husband, Arnold, of Brunswick, Christina Dargis and husband, Stephen, of Saco, and Lynn Witten and husband, Paul, of Auburn; four great-grandchildren, Scott and Brianna Bowie, Nina Wallingford and Rebecca Witten; a brother, Lucien Moulin and wife, Lillian, of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marcia; a sister, Marguerite Nichols; and a brother, Noel Moulin.
