LEWISTON – Claire M. Beaudette, 65, of 343 Webster St., died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 29, at her home.

She was born in Lewiston on July 1, 1940, the daughter of Donat and Eva (Lessard) Bonneau and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was employed as a lab technician until her children were born. She then became a housewife. While her children grew up, she volunteered at their schools, serving lunches, going on field trips, etc.

Claire had a green thumb. She loved taking care of her plants and her garden. She started her seeds in the fall and transplanted everything in the spring and summer.

She also enjoyed the Food Network, especially Paula Dean. She also watched her soap operas faithfully every afternoon with the family dog, Podo. She liked to knit and crochet, making mittens and “pichous” (slippers) for her children when they were young, and now her grandchildren.

She was also an avid sports fan, having enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Bruins and the Patriots.

Most of all, she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gerard Beaudette, whom she married on Sept. 2, 1968, of Lewiston; two daughters, Nicole Andrews and her husband, Rick, of New Gloucester, and Christine Beaudette and her partner, Melissa Galioto, of Saco; one son, Roland Beaudette and his wife, Jamie, of Orange, Conn.; five grandchildren, Kyle, Lani and Mason Beaudette and Austin and Cameron Andrews; her beloved dog, Podo; and several nieces and nephews.
