CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – The family of a Massachusetts man killed last year in a snowmobile accident in New Hampshire has donated $2,000 to the state Fish and Game Department’s off-highway safety programs.

The donation was given in memory of Michael Carlson, 25, of Templeton, Mass. He was one of two people killed on First Connecticut Lake last January.

Carlson’s snowmobile struck and killed Dagny Collins, 25, of Haverhill, Mass. as she walked on the frozen lake.

Fish and Game says the donation will be used to buy hands-free microphones that would allow conservation officers to communicate while driving snowmobiles.
