LEWISTON – Lewiston High School defeated Leavitt Area High School and deering High School in girls’ ice hockey action at the Colisee over the weekend.

The Blue Devils downed Leavitt, 2-1, on the strength of a third-period goal by Kelsey Rodrigue on Friday. Katie Cobb picked up the assist. Stephanie Doucette scored Lewiston’s other goal in the first period with help from Marie Mathieu. Chelsea Vincent scored the only goal for the Hornets against Katie Avery, who made 20 saves to secure the victory.

Rodrigue connected twice in Saturday’s 5-1 victory over Deering. Katie Cobb, Chelsea Gagnon and Stephanie Belanger also lit the lamp in support of Avery, who made 23 stops. Alisha Downing delivered Deering’s goal.

Lewiston tops Maranacook Mites

Kerri St. Denis scored four goals Sunday to lift Lewiston past Maranacook, 5-1, in mites action. Andrew Loisel also scored for Lewiston, while Paul Martha picked up the Maranacook tally with an assist from Matt Ingram. Loisel and Rachel Jurek each notched an assist for Lewiston. Sam Zashut (Lewiston) and Jack Vickerson (Maranacook) tended the nets.

Auburn Youth Pee Wee Travel team wins twice

AUBURN – Day’s Jewelers Auburn Youth Hockey Travel team swept its two contests over the weekend.

Garrett Vanwie collected three goals and an assist Saturday in a 7-2 triumph over PVHC Tier I. Dylan Nadeau added two goals and two assists, while Lauren Ratsep and Ian Durgan each picked up a goal. Isaac Reed, Logan Pushard, Evan Baggs and Drew Lupardo tallied two assists each, while Ratsep and Travis Landry each contributed one helper.

Mariah Mosher made seven saves in the Auburn net.

Vanwie erupted for four more goals and an assist Sunday, leading the way to a 6-5 win over Brewer.

Ratsep added a goal and two assists. Lupardo also scored. Chris Tarr doled out three assists, with Nadeau, Durgan, Reed, Pushard and Matt Berube delivering one assist each. Mosher made 27 big stops to protect the win.

Contractors League standings stay same

LEWISTON – All Week 14 games in the Contractors Hockey League were postponed. League standings remain as follows:
