SALEM – Emily Stinchfield scored 14 points to lead Mt. Abram to a 53-32 victory over Monmouth in MVC basketball action on Monday night. The Roadrunners (8-8) came out of the locker room strong after halftime, pressing their way to a 17-7 run in the third quarter to open up the game.

Loghan Walker added 12 points for Mt. Abram, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Jen Lola sparked the Mustangs (4-12) with 13 points.

Winthrop 54, Lisbon 27

LISBON – Senior center Emilie Knight recorded 13 points as Winthrop doubled up Lisbon 54-27 in MVC girls’ basketball action Monday.

Amanda Garwood had five field goals for 10 points for Winthrop (11-4).Christy McAuliffe led the Greyhounds (0-15) with eight points to go along with her seven rebounds. Mindy Sullivan led Lisbon with nine rebounds, while Kelly Bourgoin collected seven steals in the losing effort.

Boys’ basketball

Dirigo 72, Wiscasset 42

WISCASSET – Sophomore forward Colby Knapp had a stellar game with 18 points to lead Dirigo to a 72-42 win over Wiscasset in MVC boy’s basketball action Monday.

The Cougars eceived solid offensive support from Spencer Berry (11), Thomas Knight (11) and Michael Holmquist (10). Matthew McRae and Curtis Decoster scored 15 and 12 points, respectively, for Wiscasset (6-8).

Boys’ hockey

Bridgton 5, Hebron 4

HEBRON – Ryan Lenane scored the game-winner and a pair of assists to lift Bridgton to a 5-4 win over Hebron in boys’ ice hockey action Monday.

Roman Gosney netted an unassisted goal for the Lumberjacks (15-7-2) . Justin Butler and Jordan Krusch also tallied goals for Hebron.

Brunswick 2, Edward Little 0

BRUNSWICK – Steve May netted a pair of goals to lead Brunswick to a 2-0 blanking of Edward Little .

Adam Loudermilk took the loss in goal for the Red Eddies on 24 saves, while Chris Billett earned the shutout victory with 22 saves for Brunswick.
