SOUTH PARIS – Olin “Duffer” Ridlon, 84, of Sweden, died Sunday evening, Jan. 29, at the Maine Veterans Home.
He was born April 28, 1921, the son of the late Irving and Mildred Seavey Ridlon, and grew up in North Bridgton. He was a graduate of Bridgton Academy, Class of 1940, and served in the United States Army overseas during World War II.
He worked as a carpenter and manager at Pleasant Mountain Ski Resort. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, bowling, snowmobiling and making things for his family and friends. He was a past commander of the VFW, president of a snowmobile club and volunteer fireman, and belonged to many other organizations.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry Lamb and Loretta and Stan Crocker; his grandson, David Lamb; and his great-grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth and Noah Crocker; and his sister, Roberta Faith.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Eastman Ridlon; his sister, Dorothy Illsley; his grandson, Nathan Crocker; and his longtime companion, Irene Chadbourne.
