MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Violet E. Longtin, 87, daughter of George and Mildred (Burgess) Dutille of Sabattus, passed away peacefully, Jan. 28, at her daughter’s home in Rhode Island, surrounded by family. Her husband, Florian Longtin, after 51 years of marriage, predeceased Mrs. Longtin.
She graduated from Sabattus High School, raised five children in East Auburn and subsequently moved to Southern California, where she lived for 38 years. Her interests included electoral politics, the success of the Los Angeles Dodgers and country music. She cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by three of her five children, Joline Longtin of Old Orchard Beach, Carol Bartholomew of Lakewood, Calif. and Sandra Longtin of Middletown, R.I.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth White of Lewiston and Marion Yerardi of New Port Richey, Fla.; and a brother, Harold Dutille of Holden.
Mrs. Longtin was predeceased by two sons, Thomas G. Longtin and Richard F. Longtin, three sisters, Doris LaPierre of Escondido, Calif., Faye Cosgrove of Lewiston and Pearl Knight of Las Vegas, Nev., and a brother, George Dutille of Saco.
