This year we were very excited for Catholic Schools Week! The theme was: Character, Compassion, Values. We had a lot of fun planned for Monday, January 30 through Friday, February 3.

It started on Monday, with the L/A Catholic Schools Mass at St. Peter & Paul Basilica with Bishop Malone. With the announcement of the consolidation at the weekend masses, it felt very appropriate to have the three Catholic schools under one roof. On Tuesday, St. Joseph’s School had their annual Parent Luncheon. The parents of the students came to enjoy a nice spaghetti and salad luncheon with their child. Also, on Tuesday, the Bates College basketball team made a presentation for us. Students participated in dribbling and shooting challenges. On Wednesday, February 1, St. Joseph’s School had their open house from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 6:30 – 8 p.m. It was a start to a great week!

On Thursday, we went roller-skating at the Rollodrome. There was only one injury. Unfortunately, Chris Schenk broke his arm. That same day we were allowed to bring in any sunglasses, beach hats, beach towels, blankets, and music for a Ground Hog Day picnic lunch. On Friday, in the morning, Pre K-Grade 3 had a game marathon. In the afternoon, we all had a Franco Heritage presentation and contradance.

Thank you to the staff and parents of St. Joseph’s School. We had an awesome week.
