LEWISTON – It’s not too early to mention “Not Your Normal Formal,” said Chamber President Chip Morrison on Great Falls TV’s public affairs show, “Chip and The Chamber.”

The annual event is important to the Chamber because it is a major fundraiser. Scheduled for April 28, Morrison suggested viewers get tickets early. “We always have a great time at this event,” said Morrison, “and we expect it to sell out.”

On the show, Morrison announces other events. These include a noon Brown Bag at the Chamber on “What to Consider when Expanding Your Business” and an After Hours at Gritty’s Brew Pub, Main Street, Auburn, on Thursday, Feb. 23.

The highlight of the show, however, is an interview with the Chamber’s new board chairman, Bud Willey, of Canteen Services. Every year, the Chamber prepares an action plan with a budget, which is submitted to the board for approval. The plan sets priorities and provides direction. Willey contributed to the plan and talks about what’s coming up in 2006 for local businesses and the community.

Willey’s business has been a member of the organization for 30 years, giving him a long perspective on its history. He has served on the Business Advocacy Committee and played an active role in developing the Chamber’s annual statement of values called “What We Stand For.”

“Chip and The Chamber” is filmed at Great Falls TV in Auburn, which broadcasts it at 9 p.m. Wednesdays and 5 p.m. Saturdays. The program is also shown on Norway-Paris Cable TV and WGLT TV7 Greene Local Access Channel serving Greene, Leeds, Wales and Turner. Check local listings for dates and times.
