FARMINGTON – Barbara Waldron Romines, 78, of Wilton, died Feb. 8, surrounded by her family, at Orchard Park Living and Rehabilitation Center after living with Parkinson’s disease for many years.

She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Wilton, the only child of Erlon and Helen (Williams) Waldron. She graduated from Wilton Academy in 1944 and from Bates Business School in 1945. On Sept. 5, 1948, she married William Romines, who predeceased her on Aug. 25, 1952.

She was a devoted mother and her family was always her first priority. She enjoyed simple pleasures, such as spending time with family and friends at the family cottage on Webb Lake.

She took great pride in her professional secretarial career. She worked for Kyes Insurance and the Wilton Woolen Mill, before becoming employed in the Woodlands Department of International Paper Co., a position she held for 35 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the Wilton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Whittemore and her husband, Samuel, of Auburn; her daughter, Nancy Walters and her husband, Ken, of Wilton; her devoted, loving companion of 41 years, Robert J. Beal of Phillips; she was blessed with two granddaughters, Beth Whittemore Bilodeau and her husband, Dan, of North Kingstown, R.I. and Jonna Whittemore Klaiber and her husband, Steve, of Attleboro, Mass.; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Lucien Bilodeau.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Kimberly Gooch and the dedicated staff of Orchard Park for their excellent care of Barbara over many years.
