Dear Sun Spots: The Portland International Jetport lost a great airline when Independence folded. It was the best airline that I had flown on. The employees were great, the accessibility to gates was easy, and they left and arrived on time. Are they attempting to find another low-cost airline to take its place? – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots had the pleasure of talking with Gregory Hughes, the marketing manager at the jetport. He notes that maintaining and forging new relationships with airlines, as well as ensuring the Jetport’s needs and the airlines’ needs are met, is important. He said it takes a lot of analyzing to ensure it makes economic sense and what might work for the jetport and an airline. Hughes agrees Independence was a great airline and that it’s a loss that hurts.

“We’re constantly meeting with the five airlines who serve here (Delta, United, Continental, Northwest and US Airways) to get new service to ensure a chance for revenue.

Dear Sun Spots: Concerning the problem with a rubber bathmat leaving a darker color in the bathtub: Undiluted Lestoil on the dry surface, left for 8 to 12 hours, works. This also works on linoleum, etc., when rubber-backed rugs leave yellow marks. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I am writing with regard to the published address for our Web site in Saturday’s column:

The correct address is www.mpbn.net.

You listed www.mpbc.org, which technically works and will bring you to our Web site (since we registered multiple domain names), but that will not always be the case. We kept the old domain name for the time being while people adjust to our new address, but eventually when one types in “mpbc.org” they will get an error message saying that domain name can’t be found. We are trying to wean people off the old site address and direct them toward the new one. – Lou Morin, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I have several pieces of Princess House crystal that I would like to sell. I am looking for a hostess, demonstrator or any interested person in the area looking to add to their collection. I have tried the Princess House Web site, but it does not list hostesses or demonstrators. The items are in excellent condition, most have never been used. If anyone is interested, please call at (207) 754-0206. – Lisa, Oxford.
