Lewiston – Edna M. Hanrahan, 97, a resident of Main Street, Monmouth, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past 11 days.

She was born Aug. 22, 1908, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of and Mr. and Mrs. Bennett. She attended school in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. On Feb. 24, 1934, she married Arthur Hanrahan. He died July 30, 1973.

She worked at Hill Mill in Lewiston for 22 years, and later worked as a housekeeper for 20 years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Winthrop. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, knitting and taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild. Her last social events were graduation and a wedding in July of 2003. She was loved by her family and friends, and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Mains and Loretta Fee both of Monmouth; grandchildren, David and Jessica Whitney, Geraldine and Robert Utley, Gordon Whitney, Charles and Eva Whitney, Virginia and Robert Pelletier, Joanne and Joseph Turbide and Mary Ann Fee; eight great-grandchildren, Louis and Jessica Fee, Katie, Joseph and Alexander Turbide, Aaron and Jeffery Whitney and Johnnie Pelletier; a great-great-grandchild, Cote Fee; also a special friend, Marjorie Knoll.

She was predeceased by sisters, Frances Devlin and Sarah Singelwall; and a brother, John Bennett.
