This is in reference to the front page Feb. 4. That was one of the most shameful and distasteful front pages I have seen in the Sun Journal in the last 23 years of reading the paper.

Perhaps the page editors should wake up or use some common sense. How can the Sun Journal print a picture of some snowboarder at Sunday River just above the story of a 19-year-old young woman who will be paralyzed for the rest of her life because she was run off a ski trail at the same ski area by a person on a snowboard?

What is the sports section for?

Perhaps the snowboarder’s picture should have taken up the whole front page, as the editors must believe that we in Lewiston only care about people from other areas.

The young woman deserved better than that.
