I’m trying to make Auburn city officials aware of a problem in downtown Auburn. Automobile drivers speed and ignore the crosswalk signs at Roak Block. This must be corrected before someone gets hurt or killed.

I live in Roak Block, and it is mind-boggling to think that nothing has been done to help residents there. Relatives, friends, nurses, therapists, housekeepers and others who come here have a difficult time crossing the street. And the tenants, also, have a difficult time crossing, even though quite a few are using a cane or just have difficulty walking. I think it is awful when we have to wait in the rain or wintry weather because selfish drivers don’t care enough to stop.

Another matter is the noise from the customers at the bar down the street. That has not been resolved. Residents are still being kept awake.

I don’t want to hear any lame excuses from city officials. We want some help.
