SPARTANBURG, S.C. – K. Macklin Grider, 66, husband of Fredia Smith Grider, of 1504 Whitmire Hwy., Union, S.C., died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Stevenson, Ala., a son of Ruth Arnold Grider Allen of Stevenson and the late Forrest Grider and his stepfather, the late Carl “Shug” Allen.
He was a graduate of Auburn University and was retired from textile management.
He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a Mason.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two daughters, Laura Grider of Woodstock, Ga., and Elizabeth Palian and husband, Bill, and their children, Samantha and Charlie, all of Charlotte, N.C.; one son, Jim Grider and wife, Shaney McDaniel Grider, and their children, Emma and Anna, all of Madison, Ala.; two sisters, Barbara G. Caperton of Stevensons, Ala., and Anna Carol A. Mackey of Kenesaw, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, States and Janet Smith.
