DIXFIELD – Wilton Rec edged Auburn-Lewiston YMCA 69-63 to gain the post-season championship in the Boys Division of the Western Maine Youth Basketball League (Grades 5-6).

The champs were led by Nick Hilton and Cam Sennick, both scoring 19 points. Quin Leary sparked YMCA with 17 points. Ian Theriault added 16.

Wilton, the regular season champ, completed a sparkling 14-0 campaign. YMCA, also runner-up during the regular season, finished 11-3.

The tourney started last week with preliminary round action. Turner (8) defeated AYS (9) of Jay-Livermore 46-27 as Jordan Hersom netted 13 and Tyler Walton 11. Ben Keene tallied 14 for AYS. Jake Richards was next with 7.

Maranacook (5) eliminated Lisbon Rec (12) 43-15 as Eben Ballard scored 9 points. Seth Miller chipped in with 7. Zack Splude (8) and Sam Coombs (3) led Lisbon.

Brian Lynch collected 10 and Mike Barrucci 6 as Oxford Hills (7) ousted North Franklin (10) 50-25. Ben Holmes had a game high 19 for Franklin. Keegan Brooks, Alex Viles and Colby Wheaton added 2 each.

Lewiston Rec (6) knocked off Auburn Rec (11) 49-28 as Ryan Rossignol popped in 17 and Jeff Turcotte 12. Josh Caiani and Adam Timberlake each scored 8 for Auburn.

Tourney action then switched to Dirigo Middle School during the weekend. In quarterfinal action, Lewiston Rec upset Mexico Rec (3) 56-40. Turcotte sparked the winners with 18 points, Rossignol added 14. Pacing Mexico were Issac Roberts (18) and Zak Radcliff (8).

Auburn-Lewiston YMCA eliminated Oxford Hills 44-38 as Theriault and Leary both tallied 9. Ian Beaudoin led OH with 13. Josh McDonald added 11.

Caleb Turner netted 12 and Cody St. Germaine 8 as Dixfield Rec (4) defeated Maranacook 39-32. Ballard and Miller both registered 12 in a losing effort.

Wilton Rec trimmed Turner 55-42 as Hilton poured in 21. Eric Berry added 10. Hersom paced Turner with 17, Walton added 14.

In the semifinal round, Auburn-Lewiston YMCA got 7 points each from Sean Ford and Leary in beating Lewiston Rec 44-28. Turcotte (11) and Rossignol (5) led Lewiston.

Berry dented the twines for 21 points and Nick Hilton added 18 as Wilton Rec advanced to the finals with a 59-38 win over Dixfield Rec. TJ Frost tallied 12 for the Dixies. Josh Turbide contributed 10.
