FARMINGTON – Damien Valere Tardif, 92, of Livermore, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care.
He was born March 1, 1913, in Quebec, a son of Philippe and Leda (Marceau) Tardif. He attended Jay schools, graduating from Jay High School in 1933.
Mr. Tardif was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.
He returned to Jay and worked at the Otis Mill, retiring after 39 years.
His hobbies included gardening and spending time with his family and beloved cat, Kim.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Jackson of Livermore, whom he married in Livermore Falls on Jan. 27, 1974; a daughter, Susan Jackman of Jay; a sister, Denise Morin of Farmington; daughter-in-law, Lorrie Welch of Farmington; granddaughters, Wanda Young of Livermore, Sara-Jane Tyler of Arizona and Kelly-Jo LeVasseur of Livermore; and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Violette Mandigo; sisters, Beatrice Tardif and Lillian Theriault; and brothers, Lionel and Gerard Tardif.
