LEWISTON – McIntosh & Tuttle Cabinetmakers has promoted Nate Nielsen to shop foreman for the company’s cabinetry and furniture shop located at 41 Chestnut St.
Nielsen started with McIntosh & Tuttle as a cabinetmaker in 2003. In addition to creating high-end cabinetry, Nielsen’s responsibilities will be to oversee production and shop employees.
He brings more than five years of not only woodworking but also house and furniture restoration, which is key to the company’s expertise in using reclaimed lumber from old mills and historic buildings, adding texture, interest and an element of history to its work.
Prior to joining McIntosh & Tuttle Cabinetmakers, Nielsen worked as a cabinetmaker at Thomas Moser in Auburn.
Nielsen lives in Leeds with his wife, Jackie, where they are restoring an old home. Together, they produce maple syrup and harvest a 1-acre market garden.
