LEWISTON – Daniel P. Lebeda, 62, of Auburn, passed away on Feb. 12 at Central Maine Medical Center.

Dan was born on Oct. 22, 1943, in Portland, where he was also raised. Dan graduated from Portland High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, where he served as a senior chief hospital corpsman until his retirement.

In the service, he met his wife and best friend, Carol Bobo; they were married on May 22, 1964, in Philadelphia. They were happily married for more than 41 years. They raised their family while they were in the service traveling extensively, and later settled in Maine.

Daniel was a member of the NCOA and the Fleet Reserve. He was-self taught in Vietnamese, which he spoke fluently. He was proud of this because his doctor is Vietnamese, and he was the only one of her patients who could speak with her in Vietnamese.

Dan was a person who could remember any joke and loved to pull off pranks. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and snowmobiling, and he loved the outdoors. Most of all, Dan especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Lebeda; his three daughters, Dana Jo Lebeda of Lewiston, E. Kathy Seebeck of Lewiston and Trisha Louise Lebeda of Lewiston; his eight grandchildren, Tory and Sean Bosley, Danni Burns, Jon Seebeck, Karen Noyes, and Samantha, Brett and Bryce Moon; a sister, Theresa Deschenes of Lewiston; a brother, John Lebeda of Cape Elizabeth; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary C. (Foley) Lebeda; his father and stepmother, Joseph and Mary Edith Lebeda; and three brothers, Joseph, Michael and Joseph Lebeda.
