BETHEL – Carter’s X-C Ski Center is partnering with the Western Foothills Land Trust for the trust’s 15th annual X-C Ski Event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.
Members and supporters of the trust are invited to ski at Carter’s on Intervale Road at Carter’s normal rates: $12 for adults, $8 for kids.
Carter’s has offered to donate a portion of the proceeds to the trust in honor of the conservation work the trust does in the community.
Due to an ongoing challenge donation, the amount donated to the trust that day will be matched.
Trust board directors are preparing homemade chili, soup and bread.

The trust holds conservation easements on more than 600 acres of woodland, agricultural lands and scenic resource lands in western Maine.
Directors are working on organizational strategic planning and agreements to protect an additional 1,200 acres in the area.
The trust also owns the 141-acre Witt Swamp in Norway and is an active member of a newly formed regional alliance of land trusts in western Maine.
