Maine’s Democrats will gather for their municipal caucuses on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Traditionally, caucuses bring together the party faithful, who go on to do the grassroots organizing needed to help elect candidates to county, state and national offices.
Party members also serve as election workers, helping to check in voters and later count ballots.
For this year’s municipal caucuses, party Chairman Pat Colwell is asking participating Democrats to each bring a dollar to contribute to the Keep ME Warm Charitable Fund. Money in the fund is used to help the state’s poorest people meet their home-heating needs.
