RUMFORD – The sixth-grade students of Donna Morse and Lisa Drapeau at Mountain Valley Middle School are writing children’s books for Project Memory. The books will be sent to shelters in northern Uganda where children sleep at night to escape the war in their villages.

Program organizers hope the books will give the Ugandan children comfort and help them improve their literacy skills. About 30,000 students in the United States will participate in the Memory Project this year.

For more information, contact Morse or Drapeau at 364-7926 or visit the Memory Project Web site at www.thememoryproject.org.
