FARMINGTON – Evelyn Knowles Ranger, 93, of Farmington, died Feb. 17 in Farmington.

She was born in Solon, Feb. 11, 1913, the daughter of Walter W. and Susie Sylvester Knowles. She was educated in the schools of Solon and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in the Class of 1930.

She married Roland E. Ranger in Farmington on Nov. 29, 1933. He passed away Sept. 2, 2003. She was a member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington, honorary member of the Irene R. Luce Philathea and a member of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was active as a member, office holder and county leader for many years in the Franklin County Extension. She was also a former member of the Mt. Blue Garden Club.

She was employed at Trask Jewelers from 1962 to 1967. She enjoyed her home and family, and enjoyed many crafts.

She is survived by three sons, Gearry and his wife, Sally, of Pemaquid, John and his wife, Carol, of Standish and Michael and his wife, Nancy, of Knob Noster, Mo.; one daughter, Patricia Nurse and her companion, Kenneth Mitchell, of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Moulton of Livermore Falls; and one brother, Sterling Knowles of Old Orchard and Florida.

Besides her husband of 70 years, she was predeceased by a sister, Cora Estes; and a brother, Walter Knowles Jr.
