TURNER – Two information/ working meetings are scheduled for producers in the Upper and Lower Androscoggin River Watersheds who are interested in the USDA Conservation Security Program.

Hosted by local Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Leavitt Institute, Route 117, Turner, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Newry Town Office, Route 26.

The meetings are follow-ups to initial meetings held in December at which preliminary program information was presented. The sign-up period for the 2006 CSP program has been announced as Feb. 13 to March 31.

The meetings will review the benefits and requirements of the program and prepare eligible participants in signing up for the program. Visit www.me.nrcs.usda.gov to view CSP program information.
