LEWISTON – Wilfred P. Turcotte, 73, of Sabattus Street died Monday morning, Feb. 20, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in Livermore Falls on Sept. 21, 1932, the son of Paul and Cecelia (Pepin) Turcotte. Mr. Turcotte graduated from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1950, after school he joined the U.S. Army and later the Air Force, and served his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.

On Feb. 11, 1961, he married the former Muriel J. Fortin. She died March 20, 1992. He worked 17 years for Pioneer Plastics before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, hunting, leather working and crafting. He was a member of American Legion Post 135, Sabattus, DAV & VFW. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by daughters, Tina Heckbert and husband, Leon, of Wilton, Shirley Anctil of Leeds, Linda Hurtubise and husband, Roland, of Standish, Joan Hull and Lew, of Winstead, Conn.; sons, Richard Bellemare and his wife, Debra, of Lewiston and Normand Bellemare and his wife, Patricia, of Sabattus; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
