Lisbon High School continues the Academic Aspirations program by having Stephanie Doyon, a Maine author, visit with students. Stephanie graduated from Lisbon High School in 1989. She was valedictorian of her class. After high school she went to Colby College majoring in English Literature and Creative Writing. Stephanie has written 14 novels, including a series called ON THE ROAD, which was considered for television. THE GREATEST MAN IN CEDAR HOLE, her first novel geared toward adults, was released in June 2005. This novel received reviews in more than a dozen publications including the New York Times, Boston Globe and USA Today. This particular novel was named one of the best books of 2005 by the Library Journal.
Each month an assembly is held to showcase an influential person to help motivate the students at Lisbon High School to aspire them to follow their dream and as Ms. Doyon suggested “start with the baby steps to make it happen.”
