VFW meeting

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at noon Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All officers and members are encouraged to attend. Veterans eligible for the VFW are also invited. The agenda will include discussion of upcoming programs.

Fish! Philosophy’

AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College is offering a workshop, “Fish! Philosophy” (CCS 071-01), from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 9. The cost is $65.

The class uses an engaging metaphor as a model to improve employee retention, create excellent internal and external customer service and prevent stress and burnout.

Participants will learn the four components of the philosophy in an interactive and fun workshop and will leave with ideas to incorporate the Fish! Philosophy into their workplace environment.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners on Feb. 20 were: first, Cynthia Bonsey and Luke Merry; second, Roger Briggs and Paul Beegel; third, Martine Begert and Mary Leahey; fourth, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; fifth, Helen Little and Alberta Turner; second in B, Pat Schlegel and Linda Leotsakos; first in C, Terry Gendron and Larry Fortier.
